Graduation Week
That's a lot of short white coats!
The night before graduation is the honor convocation.  And this is where the students are hooded.  Below is Jess receiving her hood from Drs. Bashier and Tariq
Then graduation the following day.  Jess was called Dr. Jessica Joheim as she walked across the stage to receive her diploma.
Now, onto three years of residency for her training.

On the Road to be a Doctor
This was when Jess read her match to her classmates:
"Internal Medicine - UAMS"
Sydney doing a happy dance for her Mommy.
On Match Day all the medical students find out where they will be doing their residency programs.  After the application/interview process, the students rank their favorite programs and the programs rank their favorite students.  All the information gets thrown into a computer and each student is "matched" to a program.  During this ceremony, each student receives an envelope with their match.  As they open the envelope, they read the result to their classmates (and everyone cheers!).  Some students get their first ranked match, others get their second, third, or forth ranked match.  Although Jess applied to several programs and was asked to interview, she only interview at UAMS.  Therefore, UAMS was her only ranked program.  And she matched to UAMS!!
After the ceremony, we left Sydney with her Nanny, and we headed to New Orleans with some of Jess' classmates.  It was the longest we'd ever been away from Sydney, but we had a really good time.  Here are some of the pics from that road trip.
The week before graduation was senior week.  There were activities each night of the week.  We attended most of them, but only have pics from the Coat Burning Ceremony.  This is where all the student throw their short white coats into the fire in exchange for their long white coats.
