Massachusetts in March
We arrived in Boston on Saturday evening.  Melissa and Paige greeted us at the airport and the girls were inseperable from that moment.  They even slept right next to each other that night.
And Laynie with her scraped up nose.  Yep, she did that ON THE WAY TO THE AIRPORT!  She fell down the two steps that lead outside the front door as I was packing up the car with our suitcases.  Just in time for Easter pictures.  Gotta love that, eh?

In the morning, they had a hard time waiting to see what the Easter Bunny had left for them.

Big kisses for their big cousin.
Monday morning, we were waiting for Melissa to come home from work and I found Sydney playing with her new cousin Kylie.  I grabbed the camera and captured these beautiful girls getting to know each other.

So stinkin' cute!
Michael loves Star Wars.  Here he is watching one of those movies that Melissa and Fred recorded to the dvr (LOL).  While he watches the movies, he plays with the toys.  And he knows all kinds of Star Wars trivia.
Laynie made herself comfortable on one of the toys.
TUESDAY
On Tuesday, Sydney got to participate in Paige's swimming lesson.  First the girls had some fun.  And then down to swimming business.  [Paige and her friend Serena have a weekly semi-private swimming lesson.]
Laynie got a little hot, so we took off her clothes.  She sat on Mommy's lap for a while while Momma took more pictures.  Here she is with her scraped-up nose.
When the lesson was over, the girls played some more.  After several cannonballs, the girls did sycronized pencil jumps.
After some lunch and back to the house, Sydney got her hair cut by Auntie Melissa.
First the fun...
...then the work.
Paige and Serena's instructor's name is Mary.  This is funny because Sydney's instructor's name (back home) is also Mary.
WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday, we went to the Boston Children's Museum.  The kids had a great time and did a great job at tiring out the grown-ups.
As we walked into the museum, the first thing we saw was a huge climbing maze.  Of course, all the kids jumped on and got completely confused and needed my help to get out.  LOL!
As as they got lost in the maze, I got these adorable pictures of Kylie.
After we got the kids out of the maze, we went in a room full of golf balls.  There were all kinds of rails that set a course for the balls.  It was hard getting the kids out of this room.
Next we went into the bubble room.  It was even harder to get the kids out of this room.  LOL!
The next room was all about power.  Here the kids had to use their OWN power to make the seats go up.
Here's Sydney ... using her power!
Laynie getting soaking wet!
Michael and Sydney concentrate real hard while they do a puzzle together.
SATURDAY
Friday, we hung around the house and visited.  We didn't take many notable pictures.  Saturday was Michael's birthday party.  It was a tennis party held at a local sports club.
That night, we went to visit Jess' friend from college Tara and her famiy.  Pictured here:  Zach, Adam, Paige, Sydney, and Laynie  - taking a break to eat lollipops.
Mary and I were playing around with her 50mm lens.  Love these pics.
While Auntie Mimi (Mary) and Uncle Joey were still there, the girls colored on these big huge sheets of paper (which we picked up at the Children's Museum).  Auntie Mimi helped the girls trace themselves.  Then they sat with Layne while she did some "clclclclclcl" (coloring), too.
And while the girls colored, Michael played Star Wars and dressed up like one of the charactors (I don't know which, but I'm sure he told me.  LOL).
Later on, Jess gave Laynie a bath.  I caught them upstairs in the bathroom - Jess with a magazine and a glass of wine and Layne happily playing in the tub.  I got a few shots.  And just like that, things changed - the tears came.  LOL!
Of course, it was a Star Wars theme.
When all the kids had arrived at the party, they were ushered to the courts to play some tennis.

And then it was back upstairs to sing 'Happy Birthday' and eat some C3PO cake.
After all the kids left the party, Michael got to open the gift from his parents.  Just what he wanted - a green yoda light saber
Later on, at home ... a few more shots of Kylie.
The grown-ups went out to dinner for some seafood.  Some of us (them! LOL!) ate steamers and lobster.  Although I like lobster, I definitely don't like steamers.  So while we waited for the food, I had a beer.  Yum!
Monday, our flight left out in the afternoon.  So we had the morning to pack up and get ready for our travel.  It was sad to leave and say 'so long'.  But it was good to be going home.

We ended up having to spend a night and a day in Charlotte, NC because our connecting flight was canceled.  It was exhausing, and both girls had a hard time with it.  But we made the best of our day in Charlotte (the earliest flight we could get booked on was at 8pm on Tuesday).  We went to the Children's Museum.  I didn't bring my camera, so I have no pictures.  But we had a great time.

We arrived home late on Tuesday.  Both girles fell asleep.  Sydney made it to school in the morning, albeit a tough tired from jet lag.  And then it was back to life as usual (until a couple days later when the
tornado hit.)
SUNDAY
Sunday was another day where we just hung around and visited.  Jess really wanted to have a good seafood dinner.  So all the grown-ups plus Stephanine went out for some steamers and lobster.
